Relief kits, food and essential supplies distributed to affected families; special arrangements for health and livestock safety
Gonda: Relief and rescue operations continued on a war footing across flood-affected areas of Gonda following directions from District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan. The district administration is maintaining constant vigil over the flood situation and ensuring that affected residents receive essential assistance.
Administrative officers and personnel have been deployed continuously in flood-hit areas to ensure immediate response in the event of any emergency. Life jackets have been distributed to lekhpals working in affected areas, while farmers impacted by river erosion are being provided eligible erosion-relief assistance as per government norms.
The administration is also distributing lunch packets and relief kits to flood-affected families. Essential daily-use items, including umbrellas, torches and mosquito nets, are being provided to residents wherever required. Relief chaupals are being organised regularly in affected villages, where officials are listening to residents’ grievances and taking necessary action on the spot.
The administration has emphasised that no flood-affected family should face difficulties in accessing food, relief material or other essential facilities. Relief distribution operations are being continuously monitored.
Health services have also been prioritised in the affected areas. Health department teams are regularly visiting flood-hit locations to distribute medicines and provide residents with necessary health-related guidance. Arrangements have also been made for the distribution of fodder to livestock so that cattle owners do not face shortages during the flood situation.
A mock drill was also conducted to assess the preparedness of various departments for flood-related emergencies. The exercise was aimed at testing inter-departmental coordination and the ability of response teams to act swiftly during an emergency.
A control room has been established to monitor the flood situation and facilitate the rapid transmission of information. Complaints and information received from affected areas are being acted upon promptly. Senior officials are also conducting regular field inspections to assess the situation on the ground.
Sub-divisional magistrates, tehsildars, district disaster management officials, revenue inspectors, lekhpals and Flood Division officials are continuously visiting affected areas. They are interacting with affected families, assessing their needs and ensuring relief and assistance according to requirements.
Under the direction of the District Magistrate, the district administration continues to closely monitor the flood situation and is working to provide all possible assistance to affected residents while keeping relief, rescue, health and livestock protection measures in focus.
